The dynamic duo is back.
One of these days, we’re going to start an episode of ‘Alternate Shots’ talking about something other than the Iran War. We started talking about it in Episode #16. This is Episode #32.
Iran, having been handed a windfall of concessions in the agreed Memorandum of Understanding, thinks the windfall isn’t enough. The U.S. imagines that doing the same thing over and over again (bombing) will lead to Iran’s capitulation. It won’t. Add the two together, the war escalates.
Richard talked about that in his latest Substack post, so we started there, before moving along to the Saudi-U.S. nuke deal, the performative mayor of New York City, yet another horrible Fox News Poll (horrible for President Trump, who hates the Fox News Poll), and OpenAI’s latest model’s unnerving jailbreak.
In the “Sports Section”, we talked about The Open Championship, Cam Young’s brilliant final round and the winning Kiwi who won the tournament, an epic World Cup (on and off the pitch) and the Scotsman who broke track’s equivalent of the sound barrier.
