There will be another edition of Political Items this weekend (probably Monday, maybe Sunday night). I’m fairly certain the lead story will be political “upheaval” in Israel.
A friend of mine recently visited the headquarters of a leading Israeli “newspaper.” A friend of his is one of the paper’s top editors. The discussion over lunch was what the management of the paper should do if the new government decided to shut it down. The person leading the conversation wasn’t kidding. He was dead serious. That’s a conversation that was once unthinkable, not so long ago.
