Yes, piling up debt in both good times and bad, never making tough choices, the accumulation of government spending at all levels and an aging, enervating population-- and these Democrat politicians are surprised because (anemic) growth is being buoyed by 5 trillion in recent government spending, much of it unproductive pork.
Worst of all is that the Democrats have shamed the Republicans into joining them in denial regarding the elephant in the room-- our coming entitlement bomb. Yes, I would say that there is a “governance crisis.”
